Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye takes the standard US*1 rye at barrel strength and gives it a second act. After ageing in fire-charred new American oak, it's transferred into a custom second barrel, built from wood air-dried for 24 months and toasted rather than charred. That second barrel is what sets this one apart, adding sweetness and texture while the rye spice still holds its ground.

Because each barrel is bottled at its own strength, proof can vary a little release to release, but this one lands at 54.2% ABV. It's a limited, allocated release, and it's exactly the kind of thing Michter's puts out when the team wants to show what a bit of extra barrel experimentation can do.
