Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, is one of the most recognised whiskey producers in the world. Operating since 1866, it's built on the Lincoln County Process, the charcoal mellowing that defines Tennessee whiskey and separates it from straight bourbon. The distillery uses a high-corn mash bill with rye and malted barley, and ages its whiskey in new charred white oak barrels.

Gentleman Jack was introduced in 1988 as the premium tier above the flagship Old No. 7. The double mellowing was a deliberate choice to create a noticeably smoother character, and it delivers exactly that.
